AMC Theatres is the second largest theater chain in the United States. In order to stay relevant, they have been working hard to fine-tune their consumer experience in the theatre. In 2010, they decided to make some equally important changes to the AMC Theaters online experience as well.
The refreshed design brought more brand-centric aesthetics as well as better user tools. For instance, a showtimes widget was added to the home page. This widget uses an IP sniffer to automatically populate local movies and times. In its default view, users can see when the selected movie is playing at local theatres. Or, if trying to plan around a specific time frame, they can toggle to the movie times view.
